Flooding Evacuation Alert Update
Flooding Evacuation Alert Update (Sunday, November 14, 11:30 PM):
The CLEVER model is a hydrologic model used by the River Forecast Centre to forecast hydrologic conditions at locations around British Columbia.
Current readings through Merritt are over ~100 cubic metres per second, and the preliminary forecasts estimate that flows may rise to ~220 cubic metres per second, which would far exceed the highest recorded value for the Coldwater River.
The City of Merritt is currently making preparations for a neighbourhood door-knocking program in the event that an Evacuation Order is required.
If an Evacuation Order is made, residents should register at the ESS Reception Centre at 1950 Mamette Ave (Merritt Civic Centre).
Another update will occur at 12:15 AM on Monday, November 15.
