Overview
The Rapid Infiltration Basins project removed flood debris and sediment from City of Merritt Wastewater Treatment Plant areas, including the Rapid Infiltration Basins. Install a new liner in the primary basin to replace the old destroyed liner.
During the 2021 Atmosphere River Event, the Rapid Infiltration Basins were inundated and filled with debris and sediment. The RI Basins are an integral part of the current wastewater treatment plant, and are used as part of the water disposal process.
This sediment needed to be removed from the RI Basins, a new liner needed to be installed, and a secondary clay liner needed to be finished as well.
