Public Information Session
On Jan. 27 the City of Merritt will host a Public Information Session focused on updates on the recovery efforts following the Coldwater Floods this past November. Join us by visiting merritt.ca/watchmeetings.

CHANGES TO EVACUATION ORDERS
The ongoing work of our community, partners and City staff, as they focus of bringing people home has resulted in a change to previous evacuation orders.
Twenty-five properties have been removed from the order. For more
information please see Merritt Flood Mitigation Department Updates.
CHANGES TO RESILIENCY CENTRE
To better serve residents the Merritt Resiliency Centre at the Civic Centre will be closed after Jan. 31. In it’s place, the Merritt Support Centre will open Feb. 1 at 1700 Garcia St. unit 101, the previous site of Easy Home. The same services, such as the Red Cross, psychosocial services and case managers, will be available.
INSURANCE AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
We know many people are waiting to hear back from their home insurer. Regardless of the current status with your insurer, we strongly recommend applying for Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) from the Province. Deadline for DFA application is Feb. 12. A representative from Emergency Management BC is available at the Resiliency Centre in Merritt to help you complete the application and to answer any of your questions. You can also visit www.gov.bc.ca/disasterfinancialassistance.
